Due to the long and returning wishlist for very old Steinbach nutcrackers we do have now a new section which focus only on very old and retired pieces. These pieces are at least 15 years old - some of them even 20 years of age - all are labeled with the West-Germany Stamp and do also come with the corresponding Hang-tag. These nutcrackers where made in the early days of the Steinbach Company, when they made no limited editions - but very rich in detail old fashion nutcrackers. For sure these designs are the most wanted nutcrackers, since they do have the highest collectible value, since they are so low in production quantity and so high in age.

Very unique and long time ago retired "West-Germany" Nutcracker

This open series Nutcracker was released in the early 80s and shows a Spielzeugmacher - a toy maker - who is working on a quite known childrens toy - a rocking horse. If you have a closer look at the piece itself, the nutcracker comes in a sitting position, working on a kind of bench, with old traditional tools. The design of a toy maker is a very basic & historical wide spread synonym for the Erzgebrige and his companies. A special feature with that item is the little music box in the red pail, which will be activated once you press the top.

The piece is in great conditon, comes with the old box and is labled with West-Germany. Attention - this is a very unique and rare piece which was stored for many many years in a museum kind room. This open series Nutcracker - for sure the symbol of Steinbach and its production series - was the first released nutcracker in the early 80s, which was producted in a longer production series. The piece itself is in mint condition and features in a kind of abstract way the Büttel, a former kind of Mail & Police-Man, spreading on the one side informations and on the other side catching criminals. Thus his both items - a bell and a sword where selfexplaining.
