Nicknamed "Teddy", President Roosevelt was an enthusiastic hunter. The story about the way in which he spared a bear cub during a bear hunt that had been organised especially for him became so popular in America that his name was given to the "Teddy bear". The nutcracker is presented on an elegant mahogany pedestal with a brass plate bearing his name.

His clothes reflect the fashion of the time, with a bowler hat on his head and the characteristic pince-nez perched on his nose.
