Very impressive done woodcarving piece - made of solid pine wood and the carvings are made from solid air dried "Linden Wood". Between wooden oak leaves a handpainted Bavarian Farm Worker couple - holding their traditional working tools - is resting from their hard work. The top of the clock shows a large belling capercaillie - a traditional bird in the Bavarian alps. The 8 day clock (runs 8 days with one winding) coms with moving dancer couples. Height 37 inches (95 cm). The cuckoo will sound twice an hour, once at half an counting the full hour. After the half and full hour the music will play two different tunes each at full and half hour. Tunes are: "Edelweiss"
and "The Happy Wanderer". Comes with wooden weights.
